Subject: [Leica] M6 0.85 and rebates...

I went in to my local dealer on Friday to look at the M6-0.85.
In the course of conversation I asked what the price was
(as you do) and was told that the 150UK pound rebate was
due to expire at the end of June. When I asked what the
price would be after that, the guy called Leica UK to check
and was told that the rebate would be increased to 200 pounds!

I don't know if this is likely to be reflected in other countries
but I thought it might be worth pointing out in case anyone
was thinking of buying one in the next few days!

By the way, it gave me a good excuse to hand it back to the
dealer. I couldn't afford it anyway unfortunately! :-(
I'll stick to my "normal" M6 for now, but I did find the increased
magnification more of a help than I'd expected. As my main
lenses are 35, 50 and 90 'crons, the 0.85 would be ideal.

I think if they were to bring out a chrome one I would find it
impossible to resist!

Simon.
