Can somebody remind me > what I'm supposed to do? I have had good results using the C.R.I.S. MR-9 adapter, available from http://www.criscam.com/ for $30. This steps down and regulates the voltage from a silver size 76 cell to give a steady 1.35 volts. When I popped these into my SL and MR-4, the damned things actually read reliably for the first time. A revelation for me -- I'd never had the proper batteries for these things. BUT -- the MR-9 with a cell in it is just a little thicker than a PX13, or whatever it was. In the MR-4 this seems to make no difference. In the SL, one screws the battery cover in just a few turns and that's it - -- it actually protrudes a mm or so from the base. It stays in, and I'm not worried about it, but I don't know whether the CL cover has tighter tolerances. - -Patrick
