It could be halation. Your frames are overlapping, and overexposing. Halation of the overexposed areas might me bleeding off the edge of the negative. This happens with some emulsions when there is a very bright light source near the edge of the frame. (It happens elsewhere on the film but is easy to spot if it happens near the film edges.) Anyway, it does sound like the camera might need to be taken in for repair. - -GH
