I'm surprised that the appearance of an "M6 Electronic" shell should cause such a ruckus--has anyone figured out how old the thing is, or noticed that Leica has not used the E-word on a camera body for some time? Sounds to me like some remnant of a failed design from years past. I, for one, wouldn't expect to see changes to the flagship camera which drastically alter it's character, but I imagine that the technology exists to put more info in the viewfinder without increasing the size or introducing additional fussiness, which would bring us back to the M5 features, but with the M4/M6 package that we know and love. Suppose it could also gain some new electrical contacts, for possible data backs and CCDs, but this too, would not necessarily change much about the basic camera. That is, assuming that the present M6 sales are down because of the Asian financial woes and not because the present design has run it's course. Are the G-series Contax cameras taking a big bite out of sales?
