I am using the general split field screens  that came with my R4 and RE.  I
would like to know if anyone has any suggestions about other choices that I
should look at for general photography.  Mr. Grant mentioned the matte
screens, but I'm pretty sure those are best left for macro work. How about
one of the aftermarket screens such as Beattie?
