By HUMANS. Humans have bad days and good days. Family members die, kids graduate with honors. This doesn't happen with manufacturing robots. All of this is absolutely true - but....One of the things that I believe we pay for in high-end merchandise is enough QC and enough human care and redundancy to eliminate the problems. Presumably near-perfection is one the reasons that the differential in price of Leica equipment is so out of proportion to the differential in its ability to take photos. B. D.
