Chris, if you feel that the list doesn't interest you, then unsubscribing makes sense; but if you feel that you're not wanted, then you've gotten a distorted impression. There are more than 500 subscribers to this list, and there are fewer than 10 who account for a large proportion of all the postings. I think that these people who send lots of postings are just fine, but they do not represent consensus opinion. It's difficult to say what consensus opinion on many topics is in a group like this, with so many silent members. I didn't really follow whatever argument preceded your leaving the list, but I don't remember seeing you say anything terribly rude. Indeed, I remember being surprised at the rudeness of some of our longtime members -- people who I like and respect -- in their mail to you. So, if you wish to remain and express your opinions, I urge you not to let yourself be shouted down. - -Patrick
