Of its type, it is the best head I have ever used. > I too, have purchased a B1; mine's been sitting unused since January, for want of camera plates. I placed my order for same with Really Right Stuff on Monday, and look forward to using this combo--can't wait to try it with the heavy camera, at a low angle. As luck would have it, I also recently acquired a Gitzo 1228 at a nearly garage-sale price. I'm in awe of this thing: It's like a transformer toy that folds down to almost nothing, extends way high, and it's not whippy at all! No doubt I'm going to have a big silly grin on my face everytime I use this thing. Just for the fun of it, I may look into availability of 3/8" titanium studs for the Gitzo, as the stock piece adds surprising mass--all the more obvious, since the rest is so incredibly light. Jeff
