It makes the LUG list take forever to download on to my computer, and it makes it difficult to know what to read--to know what's new and what's not. This has recently reached an apotheosis of absurdity. A fellow named Howard Ball re-quoted the ENTIRE LUG DIGEST at the end of his message! The entire bundle of dozens of messages that I had read yesterday, interminably downloaded on my computer. I have to answer up to 50 e-mails a day in my job as Editor of _PHOTO Techniques_. I simply _can't_ participate on the LUG unless a little courtesy is practiced. On CompuServe, where I "come from," it's considered polite to simply patch a SMALL portion of the message you're replying to at the top of your message. Also, brief comments on long messages are discouraged. We're all reading these messages as they go by--a brief line to jog peoples' memories as to what you're commenting on is more than sufficient. It's not necessary for us all to re-read Danny Gonzalez's entire long message EIGHT TIMES so that people can add their two cents at the end. This is a plea. I beg you--exercise a little restraint and practice a little courtesy! Have pity on the likes of poor me! Please??? - --Mike J.
