I think a good strategy is to get used lenses, and a 35/2 will give you most performance for the $ you spend. Maybe you will be able to afford a 90 mm or a 50 mm as well. Then later on, you will expand your lens range, or maybe you will trade your 35/2 to one of the asph versions. If you decide to get only one lens, I would go for a 35 mm. Although the 50 mm is my favorite lens, I would not choose it as my one and only lens. When I bought my first black M4 in 1974, I got a brand new 35/1,4, a used 50 DR and a used 90/2,8. Only months later I completed with a used M2 body, but then I lived on water and cooked potatoes for the rest of the month. /Hans >> I'm trying to decide which used M lense to buy.
