One other benefit is that they bounce much better than the old metal ones. By this I mean that if you accidently drop a finder, the plastic ones generally don't get damaged badly, if at all. On the other hand, the metal finders dent easily and the front glass is prone to fracture. I can personally vouch for how easily the finders slip out of the accessary shoe. I switched over to the plastic finder years ago and I'm glad I did. The metal finders are more aesthetically pleasing, but I would sure hate to damage/lose one whereas if I lost a plastic one it wouldn't break my heart! Bill Rosauer
