I very plainly said it is a pain to have to deal with the odd filter sizes of Leica. (I believe my words were "dammed hard and annoying to have to get either step rings or special built filters") I use Wratten filters for my color correction because of the many incremental steps the filters come in, the handy way they pack up, the ability to use them on many different lenses with the proper holder, but since switching to Leica I have had to get stepping rings so that I can use the technical holders (I have yet to find a Wratten holder in 60mm size). It took me 3 months to get the 60-62mm step ring so that I could use the technical holder on the 24mm lens. In that course of time I had 2 industrial shoots where the use of a color meter and corrections on both my lights and on the lens were critical. To have as my widest lens a 50mm was annoying to say the least. Finally after trying several of the New York stores I called the Filter Connection and after waiting for back order for 3 weeks I FINALLY have a step ring. Of course I have not needed it since getting it, but I have it. They also introduced me to the Hi Tech filters, much better than Wrattens. If anyone ever needs filters the people at Filter Connection are the guys to call. Eric Welch wrote >As I have pointed out, there are solutions.
