T-Max 100 and 400 require relatively rigid adherence to procedures in the dark room; 400 is markedly more demanding than 100 in this regard. That is, to process TMY properly, strict attention must be paid to temperature, time, and agitation. Other emulsions, such as Tri-X and 400 Delta, are a lot more foregiving. And the negatives produced by TMY are often too contrasty to print easily. Highlights, especially, often block up. I like the film and use it a fair amount, but it IS more demanding than other films!
