The new Kodak T400CN seems to be an improvement over Ilford's; however, I
worry about the permanence of these films since they are dyes like color
films and are subject to fading.  They are also more likely to be mushy
than silver-based negatives.  As far as grain goes, there is no grain in
these films.  The images are made of clouds of dye which are more contrasty
when printed small and less contrasty when enlarged.  I still prefer
silver-based negatives.  Hope this helps.  Tina
