[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I have an unusual Olympic SL that I think may have been a gift from Leica to an individual, perhaps a photographer. I have this idea because (a) all the special gifts from Leica I've seen listed have unusual serial numbers, and (b) the body and lens on this SL both have round serial numbers (ending in 500), and (c) while I have seen about 10 other Olympic SL's, none of them have had round serial numbers. Of course, it may not have been a gift -- the numbers might simply have been gotten by a collector with numerological tastes -- but the camera also shows evidence of a fair deal of use, which doesn't sound like something the posited collector would have done. I've sent electronic mail to Leica in Solms (using the address on their Web page) and to Brenda Olesin at Leica USA, asking if they can give me the name of someone at Leica to whom I can write asking whether the camera was a gift from the company. I've received no reply, although it's been a couple of months since I sent my email. So, here's my question. Does anyone on the list have the name and address of someone at Leica who answers questions like this? I would have written them a letter on paper some time back, but I have no idea to whom it should be addressed. - -Patrick
