This lens has a quircky characteristic in that filters must be inserted into the hood. The lens itself is not threaded for screw-in filters. The hood unscrews into 2 part with the hood separating from the base. A series 7 filters drops into place between them. One of the few things I don't like about the lens. Some of my favourite photographs were taken with it. Dan C.
