The aperture ring is serrated on the sides only, not where the f-stops are engraved. The second Aspherical has focusing tab only (no serration). Aperture ring is serrated all the way around (as on current 28mm, etc.). But much easier to tell from the front nomenclature, as noted: "ASPHERICAL" (1st) vs. "ASPH." (2nd).
