As evidenced by this thread, each person has his or her own opinion of where the line is. What one person finds acceptably sharp is unacceptable blury to another. If you think there is no subjectivity, perhaps you could define what the objective definition is. (ie would you propose a certain number of line pairs per mm as a criteria?) I agree with Erwin.
