Or did you hear that the lens is being dropped >from their lens line for the G1/G2? Photo Schaja in Munich (http://www.photoclassics.de) sells Hologon 16 converted for the M bayonet. They advertize them as being "the last 75 available", and they explicitly mention Zeiss having ceased production for this lens in their ad. In case somebody is interested: the going rate is DEM 6688 (let's see, today the USD is at 1.82 marks, that's 3,675 dollars for you :-) BTW this is a good opportunity to introduce myself. Age 43, male, living in Germany. I've been listening in for the last couple of weeks, keeping my mouth shut for the simple reason that I don't have anything to contribute (yet); I don't even HAVE a Leica (but within the next 2 to 3 months I want to get one). I still haven't made up my mind whether I should go for a used M3/M4 or get a brand new M6. Call me superficial, but it's got to be in chrome. Black just doesn't cut it for me. All of this recent talk about quality control (or the lack thereof) in Solms has got me a bit worried, but then there seem to be so many happy campers out there that maybe the folks reporting problems are indeed the rare exception to the rule.
