I don't want to be part of a Nikon Canon war seeing this is a Leica list, but what I have always liked about Nikon is the fact that every lens I have (around 20+ dating from the 1960's to the current AF D lenses) works on every body I have (from Nikon F2's to F90X). Now, that's one of the reasons I bought into the Leica M system too (instead of eg. the Contax) With Canon we have to use the electronic lenses and when they decide to change the system again .... But, yes Canon lenses and some of the EOS cameras do work very well...so long as the batteries work.....
