The R3/4/5/6/7 cameras were all built with Minolta chassis, and a few parts inside (like the wind mechanism). But they were modified and the innards mostly designed by Leica. The shutter, prism, metering system, and many other parts were designed by Leica, and built by Leica in Portugal. ========== >> Eric -- That really did need saying to finally be the definative word on the subject of quality control regardless of where something is made. My IBM computer was made in Thailand, my Honda in the US, my Wetzlar IIIg made in Canada and my Italian Perelli's in Germany. Eric - You are back in my good graces and I wish you would repeat the above facts regularily to end this silly Canada, Wetzlar, Portugal, Solms & Japan prejudice. Marvin (born in L.A.) Moss
