Subject: Re: [Leica] Why no ASPH teles?

I've been told that part of the reason for the 21/24/35 ASP series is
to lower costs--they use the same barrel!

Tele ASPs are made. Pentax has a AF 85/1.4 ASP which is surprisingly
inexpensive-- $750 NY.

Assuming the Solms marketing geniuses believe the ASP lenses are
showing a profit, eventually look to ASP teles, brightline finders,
lens caps, ever ready cases, filters, hats, and anything they can make
ASP as a marketing ploy to get three times the normal price.

People who prostitute the Leica name with "Leica" suspenders and other
ill conceived gimmicks to help save their financial butt are likely to
do anything for the almighty dollar, er mark.

I'm looking forward to Leica ASP condoms myself.
