When I'm using my M which sync's at 1/50, I just stop down to f8 for bounce off ceiling or f11 for direct flash. That also eliminates the ambient. If you really want to get fancy put an 80A filter on the lens to whiten the ambient and a 81A gel on the flash. Then the flash and ambient will be closer to the same color temp. shier@mnsinc.com - -----Original Message----- From: ted grant <75501.3002@compuserve.com> To: INTERNET:leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Date: Thursday, January 15, 1998 8:21 PM Subject: [Leica] Yellow Cast on Flash "shots" >Elliot wrote: > ><<<.occasionally my "flash" pictures will have yellowish tinge.>>>>> > >Elliot, > >I think what's happening is the R8 meter and 400 film are trying to get you >an "available light exposure" and setting a slow ebough shutter speed to >record the exisiting light where you are shooting. > >If this is the case, just go onto "T" time instead of of "A" or "P" and set >the time to a higher shutter speed, any that will be high enough to under >expose the existing light up to and including 1/250. > >If you use 1/250, you'll surely eliminate the ambient light and have only >your flash lighting the subject.
