Is my 1st version 28 (Wetzlar) getting a bad rap? I bought the amazing Elmarit new in Tuebingen, Germany in 1968. The slides I took with it back then around Europe are still some of my best 'chromes. At the 1000km of the Nurburgring, it performed as if a search light were attached to it, probing the dark corners of pit garages, while wonderfully resolving the bright colors and details of racing cars and engines. It was on either of a pair of black M2's back then, and its only drawback today on my M6 is that you can't use the internal meter. Because of that, the 1st version used price is a bit lower than more recent versions (altho I think only a few Wetzlar versions were made - are they a collectible now?). If you don't need the internal meter, the 1st version can be a very good value. Gary Todoroff
