I can't figure out why we're so hung up on the character and personality of
HCB. It's the work he did that's important. He was focussed on it. Anyone
that dedicated is going to come across as haughty and distant. In his
personal life he may be just the opposite in nature. Picasso was no saint.
Beethoven was insufferable. 

As Al Smith would say, 'Let's look at the record.' That means his camera
work.
