The standard focusing screen on an SL has no split image incorporated in it which makes it more difficult to focus wide angle lenses than the screen in an SL-2 (for instance). The cost of an SL may need to include some money for any repairs or adjustments. This is an old camera. I had to have DAG replace the prism and shutter in mine despite the fact that Leitz had just (supposedly) performed a *Signature Service* on it. I've got about $550 in mine but it works perfectly.
