Gary,
I bought my black M2 from a photographer in Eskilstuna (Sweden), who bought
it new in 1958. He used it for 30 years, but after he started using the M6
he felt that he never used the M2. One day, he wanted a Summilux 50/1,4 and
we made a trade. I felt very lucky! It was originally a button rewind body,
but rebuilt to lever later on. The black paint on these early cameras was
very bad, so there was not much paint left. I was using this camera
regularly, once I took it to Crete, but a collector in France kept calling
me about it, and after a few years I unfortunately sold it. Maybe it is in
Japan now...
However, I still have a black paint M4 that I will keep forever and ever!
I am sorry that I dont know anything about the Kamerabild photographers you
mention, maybe I can do some research after Christmas.
I have been thinking of getting a Abrahamson winder for my M6, and I will
contact Tom about it when things have calmed down after Christmas.
You are very fortunate to have kept your black M2:s!
Regards, Hans
