But of course I may be wrong (i.e., mis-remembering). And in any case, that is NOT to say that 85mm need be your---or anyone's---PREFERRED focal length, which is another point altogether (and, perhaps, what you really meant). I've found the 28mm lens to be like all-weather tires. Jack of all trades and master of none. I spent a year photographing Western Europe where a wide angle lens is crucial and much preferred the perspective of the 24mm to the 28mm. I haven't had the opportunity to try the 21mm Elmarit-M.
