My most used lens is the M 35mmf/2. Since it went mad some time back, I have had to dust off my little used 50mmf/2 and start to use it in it's place. With this lens, I find I am having some difficulty. With the 35 f/2, how I normally approach a subject(person) is by estimating the distance, and firing from hip or chest level. If I am able to get away with it, I shoot with my eye composing through the viewfinder. This has been my method for a long time. I find I can't do that with the 50mm however. WIth the 35, my subject would normally be within 2 metres away. Now when I scan my surroundings with the 50, I have to place my subject at a slightly further distance in order to get a similar subject size within the image frame. This for me is tremendously difficult. now, I often find myself standing too close to my chosen subject, finding that I have to move back many times. My question is, how do those who use the 50 most often approach your subjects? Is the lens used like a short telephoto ? - ---adi - ------=_NextPart_000_01BD08E8.91E85800 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

<BODY bgcolor=3D"#FFFFFF">
<font size=3D2 = color=3D"#000000" face=3D"Arial">Hi LUGGERS.

My most used lens = is the M 35mmf/2.
