Subject: [Leica] M6 and batteries

 I recently haad a problem with my M6 meter. For months it was 
consistently underexposing one stop. I thought it was ther meter, so I 
set the film speed one stop lower. Then it quickly became one and a half 
stops off, followed by two stops off. Then it died. The batteries were 
dead.
 I replaced the batteries (S76) and now it is accurate.
 I thought these batteries gave full power until they died. Does anyone 
understand battery chemistry/electronics enough to tell me what happened?
