The lens cap. Filters were never meant to be lens protectors. Leica doesn't think so either. Except for the front-heavy, huge-front-element 280 & 400 (they can fall over on their face while on a tripod), Leica doesn't recommend a protector, other than the lens cap. IMHO Jim
