People use Hasselblad for portraits and survive.  The nice thing in my
experience, is that color and contrast never hurt  image quality, and
when using a very mild difusion filter (so you don't see every wrinkly,
blemish and hair) using contrasty lens such as Hassy or Leica offsets
the contrast loss caused by the filter, maintaining the richness.
