Shoot, I'd take a used 180 Apo Summicron over a new Canon 200 1.8 and pocket the $500 savings any day of the week. If that's what they cost, some day I might get one of those instead of the 280 2.8. Add a couple of APO converters and one has a 200 2.0, 280 2.8 and 400 f/4.
