I've had a Russian 35mm finder which was nearly half a frame adrift,
resulting in missing people/faces/etc.....
And a Japanese 28mm finder (Komura) which shows almost 21mm size frame.
If you can compare the two images side by side by placing some thin ground
glass or tissue paper over the film gate, having removed the back, then
you'll be able to see what (if any) adjustments might need to be made.

Good advice! Before I sent the Leica plastic finder back I
mounted the camera on a tripod and compared views through both finders. They
were as nearly identical as I would consider acceptible. Lest this be
construed as heresy, if one requires absolutely precise framing, only an SLR
with a 100% finder such as a Nikon "F"-series will do.
