 Most of us are too young to remember that in between the flash
 powder and filament flash bulbs eras - there were short lived
 foil filled bulbs that would fire by just the heat of one next to it.
 In that way - a whole banquet hall could be lit up with a minimum
 of wiring (of course the bulbs had to be only inches apart) and the
 circuit cameras were actually moving like a panorama.

 What an amazing sight that must have been.  I've been to the Queen Mary in
 Long Beach, and she's really quite a beauty.  Sort of a shame that she's
 not still in service.  I'd like a cruise in the sort of elegance that ship
 provided.
