R cameras rule!

I bought two new R3's in 1976, traded them for R4sP's in 1986. Then bought
an R6 in 1989. Traded the R6 and one R4sP for two R7's in 1996. Thousands
of rolls of film through these cameras. Ten years on the R3's. Ten years on
one R4sP, the other is still humming. Seven years on the R6. The R7's,
well, they are still considered new.

My oldest son Chris is interested in photography, so starting at the age of
eight, he lugged around & used one of the R cameras, starting in 1979. The
R4sP I kept, I gave to him. It's the camera that has 0% error on all
shutter speeds.

I bought Ektachrome in 100' rolls for Chris and processed it in our lab. We
have an automatic processor. This allowed him to shoot a lot of film at a
reasonably low cost to me.

My point is that I have never sent an R Leica in for repair. I have never
had a single failure, of any mechanism, on any of my R cameras.

As far as I'm concerned, these cameras are tough!

I'm starting to feel guilty.
