If you use matrix or integrated metering (R camera and DX), you must set
your exposure bias to +1.5 or +2 when photographing mostly white vistas and
white stuff. If the other cameras (35Ti, N90) don't have settable exposure
bias, don't use DX and cut your ASA in half twice, then add a little. ASA
25 becomes ASA 8. ASA 64 becomes 25. If there's an overwhelming amount of
other stuff (boat, sea, buildings, penguins, etc.) remove the bias. When
using the spot meter (R or M), remove the bias and meter on something
darker than white. Something toward 18% gray. Like blue sky, grass (ha),
kaki clothes, penguin, etc.
