Both seem about equal. I've used them on my R-7, R-4, SL, and R-3 and in all cases, they are sharp, wide open, and the depth of field is sufficient for even 'portraits'. I usually prefer the 90/2 for portraits, but I carry the R-4 with the older 50 with me everywhere! - -----Original Message----- From: Richard Clompus <rclompus@voicenet.com> To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Date: Wednesday, 05 November, 1997 1:53 PM Subject: Does anyone use the 50 R Summicron lens? >Dear Fellow LUGnuts, > >My R8 and lens system doesn't have a lens faster than 2.8 aperture.
