You are able to influence certain elements, but it is chance (luck) that has made many of the real great images of photographic history. HCB, Winogrand, Salgado & Co. won't say the contrary, I guess. Same thing in music and same thing in painting. What the photographer basically does, I think, is setting up a trap to catch chance. Make many pictures and you will increase your chances of producing the exeptional image. Gerard Captijn.
