The adapters are not expensive, and the Canon 50mm f1.4 is a doggone good lens. I used a 50mm f1.4 Canon on my M3 for several years, and even when I had a 50mm f2 Summicron, if I needed the extra speed, on it went! Peter Dechert (sp?) in his guide to the Canon RF cameras notes that the 50mm f1.4 Canon was the equal of the Leitz 50mm f1.4. The only reason I sold mine was to get a 35mm Summicron w/"eyes" for my M3, since I still had the Canon 50mm f1.2 for "available darkness" work. P.S. I liked the Canon 7 too, as long as you didn't need to use flash! ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: yellow glass Author: "Douglas McLernon" <dmcl@iol.ie> at INTERNET Date: 9/22/97 7:15 PM I have a 1.4 LTM Cannon with a yellow coating. It came on a Cannon 7 I bought around last Christmas. So far I have used it on the Cannon and my IIIF and am very pleased with the results - good contrast and very sharp (subjective judgment no tests). I did have a 1.5 Leica LTM 50mm at one time (sorry collectors - I can't recall the official name at the moment and am too lazy to look it up) but was not really impressed it was I believe an older generation than the Cannon. Does anybody know anything about the Cannon lens and would it be worth it to buy an adapter to use it on my M2? Regards, Doug
