Eric: Interestingly, Sam has a photo in the recent Canon-sponsored book. But Stay this Moment is an inspiration. I rate him just behind Werner Bishof as most influential on my own philosophy. Very Zen, the ordinary made extraordinary. I spent a little time with him once some years ago and found him the most gentle of souls. James Stanfield's recent articles in NG, especially on the Khans, were probably Leica as well. Both technically, artistically and journalistically-- beautifully realized works. Donal Philby San Diego
