This is the first time ANYONE ever called me a wimp.  My M5 (an early one)
had the 3rd lug added.  That's what I use.  That's what you should use.

A camera strap is more than just a way of carrying a camera around one's
neck. It's also a means of support (see Andrew Matheson's M6 book).  With
the camera on 2 lugs this would be tough to accomplish.
