From what I understand, the eyes were a separate accessory, and were not 
necessarily purchased with the lens. Not every owner seems to have bought 
the eyes, which is why there are more lenses than eyes out there.

Are the eyes for the early lenses really incompatable with the later 
ones? I seem to have lucked out with both lens and eyes, then. Fools rush 
in...
