[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Per noted Leica repair whiz Sherry Krauter (Viewfinder 28:2, Second Quarter 1995, p. 8), the magnifications of the Leica M viewfinders are: M3/MP 0.91 M2 to M6 0.72 M6J 0.85 However, the M's to the M4-2 had a 68.5mm baseline for the rangefinder, while the M4-P and M6 have a longer baseline of 69.25mm and the M6J 68.85mm. Thus, the EFFECTIVE baseline is: M3/MP 62.3mm M2 to M4-2 49.3mm M4-P and M6 49.9mm M6J 58.5mm Thus, the M3/MP would inherently be the most accurate, followed by the M6J, the M4-P and M6, and then the rest.
