I guess it all depends where in the world you go to have your camera fixed.
 In Canada, I had a new lens mount put on my M6 (after I dropped the
camera), and returned to me within about 3 days.  This was when Leica USA
ran the distributership in Canada.  Just recently, I walked into
Kindermann, and had them adjust the rangefinder (for free) in only a few
minutes.  And I am not a professional.

No complaints from me as far as service is concerned.
