In Solms at the Leica factory > they have a very nice collection of cameras corresponding to the "famil= y > tree". =20 This is correct. The old factory buildings are still in Wetzlar, but toda= y they make microscopes, I think. But Wetzlar is a beautiful little town, worth visiting anyway. Emil Keller has written two books on Leica history "The source of today=B4s 35 mm photography" part I and II, where you will find lots of Leitz and Wetzlar history. BTW he has a picture of the Barna= ck memorial in Wetzlar, a stone with this inscription: Oskar Barnack 1879-16.1.1936, Dem Erfinder der Leica die Leitz und Wetzla= r Ber=FChmt machte. (The constructor of Leica that made Leitz and Wetzlar famous). I have not found this memorial myself, maybe the next time I go = to Wetzlar. If you want to visit the Solms factory, they will not let you inside the factory unless you have an appointment. The camera collection is in the entrance, and this you can see anyway. If you want to see porduction, be sure to contact them in advance. On the back side of the Solms factory building there is a repair facility. You can get your cameras serviced there, and buy spare parts. Regards, Hans - - - - - - - - Mail: hans.pahlen@mark.komvux.se Home: http://www.komvux.mark.se/hp635.htm - - - - - - - -=20
