Hi Donal,

If I were to use the R8 (hand held) and the 280 without a motor I wouldn't have
the results I get with the R7 and motor. Also the handgrip of the R7 allows for
a steadier and firmer grip wth the strap around the back of the right hand.

It will be interesting to see just how well the R8 and motor work on slow
shutter speeds and hand held. I had an R8 and motor attached in my hands last
fall at my Leica workshop, but it didn't seem to be as stable without the hand
strap around the back of the hand as with the R7.

Maybe they have made some grip changes along with the hold-up on whatever the
problem is in the motor and we'll see a slightly different looking motor come
next spring. I just wish they'd move their butts and get it out. :)

Should be awesome blurry backgrounds and water streaks and (I hope) pin sharp
skier. We'll see by Monday.>>>>>

I had a chance to have a gyro stabilizer and camera in my hands last year
mounted on a Nikon, but not shooting with it. While it was running it sure is a
great sensation and feeling of stability.

I'd like to see a frame or two if you bring any along to see how the background
went and the stabilizer worked, quite awesome I can imagine.

Looking forward to your visit here in Victoria. :)
