Has anyone used this contraption? >> If you are talking about the current Minolta ring flash model, you can forget about using it with anything different than a recent Dynax/Maxxum camera. Starting with model 7000i, Minolta has changed its flash shoe to a "hot shoe incompatible" form. You cannot adapt the current ring flash to a Leica (at least not without welding around in the circuits) CU Frank
