The slow shutter speed problem is a matter of exercise. When these cameras sit for any length of time the slow escapement speeds become stiff, and the shutter will fail to close. As I have recently experienced this, I can say that it is easily remedied by running through all of the speeds 5 or 6 times. This loosens up the lubrication, and solves the problem. As for the counter problem, there have only been a few (?) reports of this one. Other than those problems, there are user things like battery drain - again easily explained and fixed. Guys like Marc Small have had 6's forever, and have not had any problems with them. Marc's cameras live in fear of being replaced, which might explain their flawless performance. Mine have worked flawlessly since day one. Buy the 6. You'll like it, no, you'll love it. Regards, Ben W.
