I would recommend just cleaning the eyepiece itself and not touching the glass in the camera as it has a very, very soft coating that comes off very easily. You can make it clean but you'll also have no trouble removing all the coating from that piece of glass decreasing the viewfinder contrast a little bit. It depends on how bad it is, of course. At least, this is the way it was on one of my M2's. Be careful, Colin
